The Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA way out on the east end of our beautiful valley is ideal for grape growing with its hot days and cool nights. At Penville, they believe these conditions are perfect for attaining a balance of vibrant acidity and the refreshing fruit qualities in rosé. This is their second vintage working with the esteemed Vogelzang Vineyard. Sustainably farmed, the fruit was pressed whole cluster then fermented using only native yeast in our 476 gl concrete egg and large neutral oak barrels. The wine was then aged in neutral 500L Puncheon and small stainless steel barrels for six months then bottled unfiltered and unfined.
