As a small boutique producer, our children have grown up with our Bernat vineyard as their backyard, helping with harvests, and observing the cycles of the seasons through the vineyard. This daily devotion to the vineyard, where all great wines begin, is infused in every bottle. Our CCOF certified organic grapes are hand harvested and minimally processed using old world methods of winemaking. Patience and a respect for the process nature has provided makes our Sangiovese, Syrah, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache Blanc a true expression of their place and the story they want to tell in each glass.
Produced from a half-acre section of our CCOF organically farmed vineyard in Los Olivos. Stored in French oak barrels for 2 ½ years. This is a lean and dry wine with big tannins and high acidity. Aromas of dark chocolate, chalk, and dark fruit.
Flavors of black cherry and cranberry dominate the fruit profile.
The wine has strong lingering tannins and high acidity that will keep the wine fresh for many years to come and improve with age. We suggest decanting and giving wine time to open up before drinking.
