Winery Tasting Notes: This crimson colored wine is delightfully drinkable at release date. Dusty, dried fruit with hints of cocoa powder and rhubarb pie tantalize the nose. Flavors of red cherries and red current jam are dominant, which is common for Pinot Noir from Santa Maria Valley. Bright acidity allows the wine to dance on the roof of your mouth, The finish offers ripe red plums and vanilla on the palate. Planted in 1997, The Dierberg vineyard is located in the middle of the Santa Maria Valley. It's the oldest of three vineyards owned by the Dierberg family in Santa Barbara County. The vineyard boasts 161 acres of rolling hills with mostly sandy loam soils, about 2/3 of which is planted to Pinot Noir. Pair with grilled pork chops, salmon and chicken, smoked gouda, sausage pizza, or even sea salt caramel chocolate.
