Shipping and Return Policy


Rates and charges

The shipping rate for all products is based on shipping destination, weight, and dimension. Shipping may need to be adjusted if shipping more than a case.

How club orders are processed

We will charge the credit card associated with your wine club then prepare your wines to be picked up from our facility to be appropriately packed and shipped. An email will notify you of when you can expect your wine club wines once payment has been collected. We make every effort to ship orders in a timely manner. Tracking numbers will be sent from the shipping facility once they are on their way to your door. 


State tax will be added to all orders where necessary.

Notification of order

We will send a confirmation e-mail when your order has been processed, but a tracking number won't be sent until it is processed at the shipping facility. You may email us at wine@winemerchantcafe.com for questions about the shipment of your order, or call us at 805-688-7265 ext. 6 and we would be happy to assist.

Pickup is an Option

If you live in or near our location and wish to pick up your order, please specify details on the form at checkout and we will notify you when your order is available for pickup. Our customers who choose to pick up their wine club wines need to pick up their wines within 90 days of the initial pick-up date. At that time they may choose to have the wines shipped or they will by default be returned to our inventory. We request our customers notify us of their preference by email. If the customer does not reach out to us before 90 days to make arrangements to pick up or ship, then by default, wines will be returned to our shelves and an in-store credit may be applied to another wine purchase at their next visit.

Return Policy

Except in those cases where a shipment was received in damaged condition, all sales are final. Customers may report damaged shipments by contacting us directly. 

Shipping Requirements

Wines purchased from winemerchantcafe.com are not for resale and are for personal consumption only.

Buyers must warrant that they are at least 21 years of age and that the wines will be received by someone that is at least 21 years of age. Carriers will make 3 delivery attempts. If they are unsuccessful, the package will be returned to the Los Olivos Wine Merchant and will be billed the return shipping charge. In the event, your package is returned because nobody 21+ was available to sign, or the package is refused, we are unable to refund the shipping and return/reshipping fees that we have to pay the carriers. 

Wine is a Delicate Commodity

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extremes of temperature: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment. winemerchantcafe.com is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When your wine order is picked up for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. We want you to be pleased with the product being shipped to you. If there are extreme weather conditions taking place during the time of your order, our Wine Merchant staff will contact you to communicate when your order will be shipped. Returns & Cancellations

We will replace or refund you for any bottle of wine that is damaged or flawed within 30 days. The bottle must be returned to us in order to fulfill a possible refund. Please send an email to wine@winemerchantcafe.com or call us at 805-688-7265 ext. 6 to arrange for the return of a corked or flawed product. Once the wine is received we will refund your credit card account for the cost of the wine less shipping and handling. If the original shipment was damaged or flawed you will receive a full refund, including shipping and handling charges. We ask the customer to return the unfinished portion of the original bottle for replacement. By law, we cannot accept returns of alcoholic beverages unless the product is corked, or flawed. We are also unable to accept the return of wine that was damaged due to adverse weather conditions during shipment, or wine that is ordered in error.
