VINEYARDS: Theresa-Noelle Vineyard “Le Jardin” Pinot noir comes from our estate vineyard located on the western end on the Santa Rita Hills AVA. Planted to four clones of Pinot noir, clone 828, clone 115, clone 667 and clone Pommard, the vineyard shows distinct flavor profiles attributed to Dijon clones. In the fall the grapes are hand harvested and selected with utmost quality in mind.

VINIFICATION: The vilification of the Pinot Noir is conducted in small lot fermenters and punch down by hand by our cellar crew. We ferment the grapes using a strain of yeast originally from a small region in Germany to bring out complex organoleptic profiles. After primary fermentation is complete the wine is aged in high quality French oak barrels for 14-16 months. Prior to bottling each barrel lot is graded, scrutinized, and selected by the proprietor to insure only the best in the program.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS: This wine offers a wonderfully elevated perfumed nose of Bing cherries, rose petal and nutmeg. There is a bright cherry/strawberry nose, with a hint of raspberry, spice, pie cherry, sage and toffee that are classic to the TheresaNoelle vineyard. Mouth watering flavors of cherries, strawberry, root beer, rose petal and toasted vanilla beans give way to the balanced acidity. The prosperous textural mouth feel helps to carry the rich and round tannins that follow through long into the finish.

TASTING NOTES: The fruit is lush and full on the palate. Flavors of baked cranberry, black cherry, candied raspberry and strawberry. Aromas of orange peel, hibiscus, and white pepper. The wine is rounded, medium body, with juicy acidity and a fresh finish.
