The 2017 SITESEER is a Santa Ynez Valley red blend consisting of Grenache 60%, Syrah 28%, Grenache Blanc 8% and Viognier 4%. This is a focused red wine blend plan intended from the day the grapes are picked. Though this wine looks light in the glass it is full of depth and complex texture. The vineyard sites for these grapes consist of mainly rocky clay loam soils typical to the Santa Ynez Valley AVA. There is a daily moderating wind element to the sites and you can taste the youth of the vines. This wine was fermented using 40% whole cluster and ambient yeasts in 1-ton boxes. Pressed to a mix of neutral French oak cooperages and aged for 20 months.
